The Deansville Horseshoe Club is alive and well.  The winter Horseshoe
league was established 20 years ago and has evolved into two vibrant
leagues held on Tuesday and Thursday evenings.  Each league has 5 six
member teams.

The league will run for 20 weeks, beginning early October through March.
The leagues use a 90% handicap to allow for more equality between players.
Matches begin at 6:30 p.m. and are usually completed by 9 p.m.  Each night
players pitch 6 games of 16 shoes for a total of 96 shoes.  Players pitch for
turkeys at Thanksgiving and hams at Christmas time.

The league is Co-Ed, with several women participating.  Players come from
Madison, Waunakee, DeForest, Sun Prairie, Cottage Grove, Stoughton,
Deerfield, Portage, Marshall, Johnson Creek, Lodi, Columbus, Middleton,
Cambridge, Jefferson, Fond du Lac, London Depot, & Watertown.
The President is Kerry Morris of Watertown.  V. President is Dobie
Gutweiler of Sun Prairie & Sec.-Treas. Is Rudy Van Fleet of Columbus.

The annual Meeting is held at the fall meeting held in Mid September.
Election of officers is held at this meeting.  Total fees for the season are $65
per individual or $390 for the six member team.
